What Can I Drive with a HR Driver Licence?
A HR Licence permits you to drive a Heavy Rigid vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass exceeding 8 tonnes, with no axle limit, and tow a trailer up to 9 tonnes. There are specific gearbox restrictions that may apply to an HR Driver license, including:
HR
This licence has no restrictions and permits you to drive any heavy vehicle with an automatic, synchromesh or crashbox (roadranger) gearbox.
HR-B
This restricted heavy vehicle licence permits you to drive heavy vehicles with a synchromesh or automatic gearbox.
HR-A
This is a restricted heavy vehicle licence permitting the driving of heavy vehicles that have an automatic gearbox.
Are you ready for your HR drivers licence?
To obtain this licence in Western Australia, you must meet the following criteria:
The applicant must hold a Car (C class) license for at least 2 years, or a Light Rigid (LR) or Medium Rigid (MR) licence for at least 1 year.
Complete an enrolment form.
Provide 2 forms of identity (For example, a WA driver’s licence and/or learner’s permit, passport, Medicare, high risk ticket).

Does your training cater for beginners?
Most of our students don't have experience driving trucks. We take the time to move at your pace so you are confident and comfortable.
How long does it take to get a licence?
This varies from licence to licence. Most courses are a 1 day course but can be split into 2 days.
Are your trainers experienced?
Each of our instructors and assessors have a certificate IV in training and assessing, making them fully qualified to instruct students on how to safely operate a truck.
What happens if I don't pass?
Re-assessments can be taken after 24 hours.
